Privacy Policy · Eipify Kids
Your family’s data, in plain language.
Eipify Kids is an early-intervention learning app for children, set up and managed by a parent or guardian. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the control you keep. It is written to be read, not just filed.
§ 01 Who is responsible for your data
The person responsible for your data (the “data controller”) is:
- Name
- Omar Abdulaziz
- Role
- Independent app developer, publisher of Eipify Kids
- Contact
- contact@eipify.com
- Based in
- Qatar
We operate Eipify Kids for families in Qatar and Egypt, and we comply with Qatar’s Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016), Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020), and the children’s-privacy requirements of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
§ 02 A note for parents and guardians
Eipify Kids is designed for children. A parent or guardian creates the account, provides consent, and stays in control through a PIN-protected parent area. We deliberately keep data collection to a minimum, we never show third-party advertising, and we never sell personal data. We do not knowingly allow a child to create an account or make a purchase without a parent.
§ 03 What information we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work:
| Information | Whose | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Email address & password | Parent | To create and secure the account. The password is stored only as a secure one-way hash by our sign-in provider, so we never see it. |
| Child’s first name or nickname, age, avatar | Child | To personalise the experience and set age-appropriate content. |
| Learning activity: games, scores, time, progress | Child | To show progress to the parent and adapt difficulty. |
| Settings: daily time limit, language, parent PIN | Both | To run parental controls. The PIN is stored only as a salted hash. |
| Subscription status, plan, store transaction IDs | Parent | To manage your subscription. |
| Basic device & log data | Both | To run the service reliably and keep it secure. |
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or microphone/camera data, and we use no advertising identifiers, third-party analytics, or tracking technologies.
We do not ask for, and you should not enter, any medical diagnosis or health records about your child.
§ 04 Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide the app and manage your account. This is necessary to deliver the service you signed up for.
- To store and display a child’s profile and progress. We rely on the consent of the parent or guardian.
- To process your subscription. This is necessary to perform the subscription and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
- To keep the app safe and secure. This is our legitimate interest in protecting users and preventing abuse.
You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your rights). We do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects about you or your child, and we never use your information for advertising.
§ 05 Parental consent
Before any information about a child is collected, the account holder confirms that they are the child’s parent or legal guardian, are 18 years or older, and agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. We record the date and the version of the policy that was agreed. Setting up the app and completing a subscription purchase through the App Store or Google Play further confirms that a responsible adult is in control of the account.
§ 07 Storing and transferring data internationally
Our hosting provider (Supabase) stores data on servers in the Asia Pacific (Tokyo) region, which is outside Qatar and Egypt. Where the law, including Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law, requires it, we transfer data abroad only on the basis of your explicit consent to this transfer, which you give when you agree to this policy, and we take reasonable steps to keep the data protected to the standard described here. If you do not want your data transferred outside your country, please do not create an account.
§ 08 How long we keep your information
- We keep your account and your child’s information for as long as your account is active.
- If your account is inactive for 24 months, we may delete it and its data.
- When you delete your account, we delete the associated personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records (for example, proof of a transaction) to meet a legal obligation.
§ 09 How we protect your information
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
- Access is restricted per account using database row-level security, so one family can never see another family’s data.
- Passwords and parent PINs are stored only as hashes, never in plain text.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify the relevant authority and affected users of a serious data breach as required by law.
§ 10 Your rights
As a parent or guardian, you can at any time:
- Access and review the information we hold about you and your child.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your account and your child’s information.
- Withdraw consent and stop further collection (this may mean the app can no longer be used).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, use the app (Parent → Settings → Delete account / Manage data) or email contact@eipify.com. We respond within 30 days.
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may complain to the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) Data Privacy Office in Qatar, or the Personal Data Protection Center in Egypt.
§ 11 Deleting your data
You can delete everything yourself, at any time:
- In the app: Parent dashboard → Delete account. This permanently removes the account, the child’s profile, learning activity, and settings.
- By request: email contact@eipify.com. We complete verified requests within 30 days.
Step-by-step details are on our account deletion page.
§ 12 Special protection for children
Because Eipify Kids is used by children, including those in early-intervention and special-needs programs, we take extra care:
- We collect the least information possible (a first name or nickname, not a full legal name).
- We keep default settings private and parent-controlled.
- We never profile children for advertising and never sell their data.
§ 13 Changes and how to contact us
We may update this policy as the app evolves or the law changes. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date; for significant changes we will notify parents in the app.
